So Today is my 23rd Birthday I swear time is going by so fast. This past weekend me and my bestfriend celbrated out birthday's at the Atheneum Suites hotel downtown. The room was great and we certainly enjoyed our night partying and having fun. We didn't make it to all the places we were supposed to go but we had a good time anyway.

Fundraising Time

Shades Salon Spa will be hosting a fundraiser through Popcorn Palace, starting October 24-November 5. All money will be due by November 7th. The fundraiser will help raise money to sponsor a single mothers pamper party, the date has not been determined yet but all proceeds are accepted.

So i have been talking with Fingaz Fantasy Hair distributors to possibly start distributing hair to my customers in the future, keeping my fingers crossed that i, as well as my clients like the grade of hair that she is providing... We shall see!!!

I have so many ideas running through my head, i want to be a entrepreneur i just have to stay focused and keep pushing wven when the odds are against me and people may doubt me. Im not great with constructive critisism because i want what i want but somethings i do have to come to reality about and understand that everything takes time, dedication, and planning.

I would love more my future salon to look like this after 10 years in the business

Helping the Community

I have come up with two events/organizations to give back to the community in a fun and inspirational way.  The first organization is called Beautiful Mommies, this event will cater to mothers who dont get to take time out of there day to do things for themselves.  This organization will cater toward the beauty of women and taking a day out of there hectic schedule to cater to themselves.
The first event coming from this organization would be a pamper me party. This event would give the single mothers a chance to get there hair and nails done, as well as meet with other single mothers in the Detroit area. This event will hopefully take place in December 2011.

The seccond event/organization that i have come up with is the Shades Book Scholarship, it is for college students who are in need of book money, the scholarship will be awarded every Fall and Winter semesters starting in 2012

God writes our story we just live the life!!

So this weekend was my sisters 21st birthday celebration.  It started off very well I came back to Detroit to celebrate and make the day as memorable as possible but it went bad towards the end. Although the night wasn't planned to end in the hospital we certainly had a great beginning.. I will upload pics soon... Happy 21st Colby LOve you!!!

Saturday- Sunday comes along and we all are trying to re cooperate, but friendships were tested and it goes to show you when friends just grow apart, which is not a bad thing when you get older everything isn't always the same as when your younger.

Then toward the end of the weekend my second fam received some horrible news, my sisters uncle was in a bad car accident and it left everyone wondering and worrying what the outcome would be, i am keeping the Wilson's in my prayers everyday until this bad nightmare goes away..

It just goes to show you that God works in mysterious ways, one day you could be here healthy and strong and the next day you could be in the hospital weak and brittle, that's why they say live everyday like it's your last, cherish every moment and smile, and tell your loved ones that you love them

She can be a bit fussy at times when she wants to eat which is all the time lol, but she is a very precious..congrats to my brother and sister-in law on their brand new baby girl

New Laptop

Yayyyy!!! I finally got a new computer, I have had the same laptop for the past five years and it's worked well up until the last year the problem was is that it has five years worth of pictures, music, homework and its been long over due.. And it's my fav color purple

I am a EMU girl now, i was very excited when i was accepted to the school and as well as geting the keys to my first apartment, but when it came to me moving in and staying the first night alone I was a little hesatent and anxiety set in.  After the first week of classes and work I see my self getting use to being away more.  This is just another step towards my future and i can honestly say im happy!!
